Flaxseeds are good for digestion because they contain a lot of fiber and mucilage, which stimulate intestinal motility, soften the stool and protect the intestinal mucosa. They are a natural source of essential omega-3 fatty acids. However, the body can only use the latter optimally if the fatty acids are extruded from the seeds.
Our processing method is optimal because our body cannot digest the seed shell and therefore cannot access the nutrients hidden within. Grinding the seeds is only recommended to a limited extent because although this breaks open the shells, it still contains anti-nutritional substances such as precursors of hydrogen cyanide.

Unsaturated omega-3 fatty acids

These are healthy sources of fat in the form of good fatty acids to support important body functions. They are essential for dogs and strengthen the brain, eyes and nerves. Sources of omega-3 fatty acids include vegetable oils such as linseed, rapeseed and olive, as well as algae and certain sea fish. However, only vegetable oils offer a sustainable and future-oriented alternative. In addition, omega-6 fatty acids predominate in most animal fats, sunflowers and corn.
While omega-3 fatty acids are beneficial to health, omega-6 fatty acids are harmful to the body if consumed in excess. The bran contained in the product serves to capture the valuable omega-3 fatty acids from the flax seeds during the manufacturing process.
